Getting Started



As I began working on this assignment I wasn't sure how to go about it. I wasn't sure what kind of animations I wanted to make or where would be a suitable place to put them. I wanted to make sure the viewers weren't bored as they were watching the audio story, but at the same time I didn't want to make it look too distracting. After going over the animation process in class, I felt confident that I could accomplish animations on my pictures, but I also wanted something more to add than just that. For this assignment, I watched the videos "Create a Title Intro" and "How to Animate a Title" and these helped me a lot with coming up with ideas and how to go about creating text to use in my animation process. Over the course of this assignment, there were a lot of moments where I became stuck and didn't know how I wanted my animation to go or what would look good for the viewers.



This assignment taught me how to make my pictures go right to left, up and down, and to zoom in and out, along with my text. I am not thrilled about the outcome of my audio story, but this assignment taught me a lot that I can apply for my final product and I hope to make more adjustments for it to make it more appealing for the viewers. It was fun messing around with different fonts and the amount of options I had when it comes to the animation process. Overall, I had a great time completing this assignment and can't wait to see how my final audio story turns out!

Poster When deciding on a movie poster that I wanted to recreate, I knew right from the start that I wanted to recreate the Mean Girls poster. The Four Kinds of Audio Podcasts have always been something I wanted to learn more about and explore but I never took the time to sit down and listen to them. Podcasts are great to listen to anywhere at anytime, but I've never given them much thought. Initially I was taken by surprise when I saw the several types of podcasts that Radio Lab had to offer. I was even more surprised when I read the article, "10 Tips for Using Audio More Effectively in Multimedia Stories". Whenever I watch a video or film, I'm automatically drawn to the lighting, scenery, pictures and all of the visual aspects that makes it up. After reading this article, I realized I've never really taken the audio into detail as much as I do with the visuals and I'm eager to pay attention to that as I continue to watch videos in the future. The Animatic

What I Have Learned As we began to use Adobe Premiere in class I was a little anxious for this project. I was used to the way things were on Adobe Audition and found Premier to be much harder to adjust to. The videos, "What is Premiere Pro" and "Create a project and import a clip" helped me out a lot with refreshing my mind on how to start my project. Prior to starting my project I searched for images online that related to my topic of traveling. Once I found ones that were suitable, I saved them onto my flash drive so I would have access to them later. At this time, I decided to take a video of my friend, Sophia, who was in my audio story and filmed her looking up flights for Australia that I would later use for my "B-Roll". I then opened up Premier and uploaded my audio track by double right clicking on the box on the bottom left of the screen.
